A Career in Finishing

Before starting SnagSafe Professional Snagging Inspections, I built my career as a specialist in interior finishing and property preparation across housing developments throughout Dublin and surrounding counties.

Builder-Side Experience

Because I worked on the finishing end of new builds, I was regularly involved in dealing with builders' snag lists and finalising homes before handover. This gave me a clear understanding of the types of issues that commonly arise at the final stages of construction and what should be completed before a homeowner receives their keys.

A snagging inspection is an independent assessment of a newly built property. We identify defects, unfinished work, and anything that doesn't meet expected building standards — from cosmetic issues like paint blemishes to functional problems with plumbing or electrics.

Ideally, book your snagging inspection after your builder has finished work but before you officially move in or sign off on the property. This gives your builder a chance to fix identified issues before you take possession.

You'll receive a comprehensive digital report with photographs of every defect found, a description of each issue, its location in the property, and guidance on what needs to be addressed. The report is formatted so you can easily share it with your builder.

A typical inspection takes between 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the property size. We take the time needed to ensure nothing is overlooked — rushing helps nobody.

Absolutely! You're welcome to be present during the inspection. It's a great opportunity to see firsthand what we look for and ask any questions about your new home.

Our core service is new build snagging, but we can also inspect properties that have undergone major renovation or extension work. Get in touch and we'll advise whether our service is the right fit.

Share the report with your builder or developer and request that all listed items be resolved. We offer post-inspection support and can advise you on follow-up steps if needed. Re-inspections are available at a reduced rate.
